Maintenance of the hearing aid is essential for its proper functioning. To ensure that you always get the most out of your aid and that they serve you for a long time, we advise you to follow these instructions.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE OF HEARING AIDS
1. Keep your aid clean and dry. To remove moisture and dirt, wipe the device with a soft cloth or wipe after use. Do not use water since it can damage the aid.
2. Never put the hearing aid in water or liquids, as liquids may cause permanent damage to hearing aids
3. Avoid rough handling and dropping aids on hard surfaces or floors.
4. Do not leave hearing aids at or near heat sources or in the sun (such as a hot, parked car) as heat can deform and damage the hearing aids.
5. Do not use your hearing aids during showers, swimming or in humid environments such as baths or saunas. If your hearing aid gets wet, or has been exposed to high humidity or sweating, leave it to dry overnight with the battery removed and the battery door open. We advise you to leave the aid overnight in a closed container along with the drying caps. Do not use the aid until it dries completely. Ask your otoacoustic professional which dryer to use.
6. Remove the aid when applying cosmetics such as perfume, hair lotion and sun lotion. They can get into the aid and damage it.
Daily maintenance
To avoid damage that may be caused by sweating and moisture, we recommend using a drying set. If you sweat a lot, wipe the aid several times a day with a tissue to remove moisture behind the ear and from the hair. If necessary, clean the earmold or dome and replace the ear wax protection filter (if the hearing aid has one). The tube on the acrylic earmold needs to be replaced every 2-3 months, so that it does not harden.
